Description

We are seeking a Quality Control Inspector to become a part of our team! You will be responsible for inspecting vehicles for damages and defects. Position is located in Brunswick, GA.

POSITION  SUMMARY:Inspect  vehicles  upon  arrival,  during  processing  and  upon  allocation  as  necessary  to  ensure  the  quality  of  work  completed  and to document damages and deficiencies.

ESSENTIAL  FUNCTIONS:         

  •On all arriving vehicles, thoroughly and accurately survey vehicles, according to customer standards, for damages or shortages.

•Properly document and sticker damages, as well as complete manufacturer’s survey form if necessary.

•Reconcile the survey with the survey results of independent survey companies, if necessary.•Document warehouse and warranty damages occurring in their assigned area.  Also note any quality deficiencies as they occur.

•Complete audits of handling vehicles, installations or other operations as requested.

•In accordance with manufacturer’s specifications, inspect for proper installation of all accessories completed by the Production Shop; and inspect body and paint work completed by the Body Shop.

•Report to the QC Manager and Shop Manager recurrent or serious deficiencies as they occur.

•Provide  timely  and  accurate  information  as  necessary  to  other  departments  or  Port  Representatives  regarding  damages, defects or shortages.•Must have a spotter when backing up vehicles.

•Maintain a safe working environment and follow all policies and procedures regarding safety.

•Perform other duties as assigned.

POSITION  QUALIFICATIONS  AND  REQUIREMENTS:

•Must be DRUG FREE.

•High school diploma or GED.

•Must have a valid driver's license.

•Must have and obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC Badge). 

•Must provide a 3-year Department of Motor Vehicle Report (DMV) with no more than 2 moving violations, no DUI convictions and no Reckless Driving.

•Ability to use/operate a two-way radio and a Freon detector.

•Must have demonstrated commitment to safety.

•Ability to effectively communicate, understand and follow verbal and written instructions.

•Must possess problem-solving abilities and be detail oriented.

•Must have reliable transportation to and from work.

•Ability to record and verify numbers 17 characters in length.

•Ability to drive both automatic and straight shift vehicles.

•Ability to function within working conditions and physical requirements described above.

•Ability to work assigned hours. Including overtime and weekends as needed.
PHYSICAL  REQUIREMENTS:Repeated  periods  of  standing,  walking,  bending  and  stooping.  Must  be  able  to  work  at  heights  of  approximately  15  feet.  Requires vision adequate to detect minor body damage on dirty vehicles.
