OnTrack Staffing is looking for a Pre-Sales Consultant in Alpharetta, GA.

The Pre-Sales Consultant is a dedicated resource whose primary focus is to support the sales function in guiding customers during their trial period or providing insight about our solutions. The Pre-Sales Consultant works closely with regional account managers as coordinated by the VP Sales and will be required to uses their technical, commercial and customer facing skills to add value throughout the sales process, ultimately influencing the prospects decision to purchase client solutions.  Any new opportunity whether with an existing customer or new prospect, gives the Pre-Sales Consultant the opportunity to influence the outcome positively for client.

Scope and Accountability

  • The Pre-Sales Consultant is responsible for all pre-sales activities assigned to them. They should always consider the time and costs associated with their actions is appropriate to the commercial value of the opportunity by prequalifying the prospect with the sales person prior to engagement and, if necessary, tailoring their actions accordingly.
  • The Pre-Sales Consultant reports directly to the VP Sales.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting the Sale team:  The Pre-Sales Consultant should work closely and in coordination with the Regional Account Managers ensuring that, where possible, all customer interaction is discussed in advanced, is recorded on Salesforce and summarized to the sales person afterwards
  • Deliver presentations and product demonstrations that require more in-depth or credible knowledge than the sales person can provide (either onsite or typically, remotely)
  • Visit on an infrequent basis (or accompany sales people) to provide pre-sales support to qualified prospects
  • Assist the sales person to build a compelling and competitive business case and ROI (Return of Investment)
  • Support the sales team by completing and responding to technical requirements, questions and RFP’s (Request for Proposal) when necessary.
  • Provide product training to new and existing members of the sales team as and when required in order that they can present and talk knowledgeably about client solutions and, where possible, have a basic knowledge of any competing solutions.
  • Supporting prospects: It is important that prospects evaluate our solutions to ensure they are fit for purpose and meet their requirements, this is a critical stage in the sales process and is one that is closely linked with the Pre Sales Consultant’s role.
  • Maintain a list of all prospects trialing solutions in order that these can be monitored and supported correctly during the pre-sales process.
  • Assist prospects trialing client solutions ensuring the product is installed and configured correctly and that the prospect can use it to meet their requirements (either onsite or remotely).
  • Serve as a primary technical contact to trial users and respond in a professional and timely to their inquiries and support requests
  • Build technical relationship with prospects and existing customers in order that they trust and seek advice if they have a question or an issue during the sales process
  • Monitor and manage any open support issues that prospects may have raised with our Support department to ensure they are dealt with promptly and in a manner that supports the sales process where possible.
  • Document trial progress, strengths/weaknesses, issues, competitive solutions considered, and any other useful information in the CRM to support Sales activities

Additional duties:

  • By its nature the Pre-Sales Consultant’s role will be varied, and will include but not be limited to the following:
  • Ensuring that online chat system (TAWK) and its presence on various online forums is monitored and responses are provided quickly and professionally (this may involve “fielding” conversations to other departments/teams where appropriate).
  • Representing client at exhibitions and other events (this may also involve planning and organizing the event: overseas travel and possibly weekends away if unavoidable).
  • To assist the Support department with customer training or technical support

Skills, Ability and Experience

  • The Pre-Sales Consultant is a self-motivated team player with an affinity for both education and technology making them self-sufficient. They have excellent presentation and communication skills; are a good listener and can pinpoint a prospects exact business and technical requirements, map these to client solutions and communicate these along with their value and benefits to provide a compelling requirement for our solution(s)
  • The Education Pre-Sales Consultant is also organized, has a strong attention to detail, can multi-task and prioritize their workload under pressure.
