+++THIS IS A 10 DAYS ON 4 DAYS OFF SCHEDULE+++

 

POSITION PURPOSE

The primary purpose of the Facility Engineer is to maintain and repair non-production related equipment and be a technical resource to the Operations Department.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities Include:

·         Properly maintain the facility and all equipment, thus enabling operations to meet production demands by focusing on continuous improvement and development.

·         Maintain a high level of urgency in responding to all trouble calls.

·         Complete all trouble response calls through documentation of work orders and downtime log.  Discuss all repairs with Operators, Production Managers, Engineering Team Leaders, and engineers to ensure customers’ needs are fulfilled.

·         Coordinate trouble response efforts and the need to complete p.m. tasks in a timely manner,   with fellow engineers to maximize uptime.

·         Perform preventative maintenance procedures on all assigned equipment.

·         Communicate with Engineering Team Leaders, Production Managers, Production Associates,   and fellow Engineers when performing daily, weekly, and monthly travel paths.

·         Communicate with the Engineering Parts Coordinator to insure adequate parts inventory Provide descriptions, part #’s, quantities, and time lines when needed. Promote a safe and clean working environment by following clean as you go procedures.

·         Attend and participate in all Engineering, safety, etc. meetings and activities.

·         Continue to promote and utilize the Enterprise Asset Management System by following all 7I   procedures and expanding individual use of the system.

·        Ensure that all safety procedures and guidelines are properly adhered to.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

None

QUALIFICATIONS  

·        Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.

·        A thorough knowledge of electrical/ electronic components and equipment including the use of special instruments for diagnostic purposes.

·        Must be able to read and interpret drawings, sketches, O.E.M. instructions and specifications.

·        Must be able to perform but not limited to the following skills: carpentry, plumbing, masonry, electrical, machine repair, plant layout, painting, and janitorial.

·        Skilled in the safe use of hand and power tools.

·        Experience with metal fabrication equipment and processes such as welding (TIG, SMAW), grinders, and abrasive cutoff saws.

·        Ability to quickly prioritize service calls in order to minimize downtime.

·        Must be able to work well with all levels of personnel whether individually or in a team environment, and especially must be able to interface and communicate with operations in order to assist with repairs and troubleshooting.

·        Willing to work overtime as needed.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

·        2 + years of experience in an industrial repair environment with emphasis on mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electronic systems.

·        Prefer vocational training in industrial electricity to include electro-mechanical devices.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Ability to lift / carry 40 to 75 pounds on a regular basis
  • Willing to work in temperature extremes ranging from -60°F to 120°F.
Ability to work in high noise environments
